About Us
The civil society organisation building Türkiye’s offshore wind ecosystem together with government, industry and academia.
The Turkish Offshore Wind Energy Association (DÜRED / TOWEA) was founded on 5 March 2021 to pioneer offshore wind investment in Türkiye, support the growth of the sector and bring the maritime and energy industries together around a shared goal.
Headquartered in Ankara with branches in several provinces, DÜRED acts as a bridge between public institutions, universities, investors, industry and international stakeholders. The Association is a member of WindEurope and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC).
What we do
- Represent the sector: We strengthen civil society activity in offshore wind and support the people and organisations working in the field.
- Reveal the potential: We highlight Türkiye’s offshore wind resource potential and help turn it into economic value.
- Shape the framework: We contribute industry insight to legislation, regulation, tender design and the preparation of tender specifications.
- Coordinate collaboration: We bring the maritime and energy sectors, public institutions and universities together in joint initiatives.
- Build awareness and skills: Through training programmes, port meetings, workshops and the Offshore Wind Türkiye conference, we foster knowledge sharing and workforce development.
Why it matters
Offshore wind is a strategic opportunity for Türkiye — for security of supply, domestic industrial growth, stronger port and shipyard infrastructure and the country’s climate goals. DÜRED works to ensure this opportunity is realised in a planned, sustainable and inclusive way.
